The value of LGDs (livestock guardian dogs) on the homestead
Leona, our one-year-old LGD pictured here, is watching over our chickens as they roam the front yard. Can you see the rooster dustbathing by the tree stump? :) We don't have to worry about her harming the chickens or anything else getting them either. Although we do trust the dogs (Leona and her brother Jaeger - ), we still keep an eye on them. They need supervision with animals until they are 2 years old. Jaeger is upset that Tally is eating his food but he just lets her.
